Chocolate Chip Cookies

Andrew’s favorite chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (165 g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (142 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 cup (285 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
  • 2 cups (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. Mix sugars, butter, vanilla and egg in large bowl.
  3. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff).
  4. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
  5. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly.
  6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.

Notes

  1. Optionally, add 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
  2. For thicker smaller cookies use oven with convection on; for flat and wide cookies use oven without convection
