Chocolate Chip Cookies
Andrew’s favorite chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup (165 g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (142 g) packed brown sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 cup (285 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
- 2 cups (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Mix sugars, butter, vanilla and egg in large bowl.
- Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff).
- Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
Notes
- Optionally, add 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
- For thicker smaller cookies use oven with convection on; for flat and wide cookies use oven without convection
